Windows Server 2019 is the final version of Operating system for Microsoft servers available for download from 2 October, along with the October update 2018 Windows 10.

Windows Server 2019
This new version has two versions: Standard Y Data center, the latter being the most complete.
It has been created on the basis of Windows Server 2016 and taking into account customer feedback.
Characteristics
To improve enterprise data centers, Windows Server 2019 has the following four characteristics: hybrid cloud, safety, hyperconverged infrastructure and application platform (HCI).
Hybrid cloud scenarios:
The hybrid approach, combining on-premises and cloud environments, is integrated into Windows Server 2019 and Windows Admin Center.
Thanks to this, the system allows file server synchronization, Active Directory expansion and cloud backups.
What's more, customers can easily integrate services like Azure Backup, Azure File Sync and disaster recovery, without affecting your applications or infrastructure.
Safety:
This version integrates new security functions based on three fundamental pillars: to protect, detect and respond.
Windows Server 2019 extends support for shielded virtual machines to Linux virtual machines.
Also has Windows Defender ATP Exploit Guard (a new set of host intrusion prevention capabilities) what offers:
- Attack Surface Reduction (ASR), to block malicious files.
- Network protection.
- Controlled folder access.
- Protection against vulnerability exploits.
Application platform:
Linux containers have been included in Windows so developers can run both types of containers on a single infrastructure.
In the same way, Linux users will be able to run their scripts on Windows thanks to the subsystem Windows for Linux (WSL).
Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI):
HCI is a software-defined IT infrastructure that virtualizes all elements of conventional systems “hardware defined”.

- Deduplication and compression for up to 10 times more storage for free.
- Native support for persistent memory.
- Nested Resilience for Two-Node HCI at Edge.

- Windows Defender Application Control: code integrity directives (CI).
- Failover cluster that eliminates the use of NTLM authentication.
- Shielded virtual machines: offline mode, VMConnect and Linux compatibility.
- Encrypted network in SDN: encrypted networks protect data as it travels across network devices between hosts.
- Software Defined Data Center.
- Performance History for Storage Spaces Direct: access to the performance and capacity history of your cluster.
System Requirements
These requirements, that apply to Standard and Datacenter editions, vary by system configuration and installed applications.
- Processor: 1.4 GHz 64 CMPXCHG16b compliant bits, LAHF / SAHF and PrefetchW, and with NX and DEP support.
- RAM: Minimum 512 MB. For a virtual machine, must allocate more than 800 MB.
- Disc space: 32 GB.
