If you have a new computer, surely this has CPU, RAM and graphics card more than necessary for Windows. However, if you have a old computer or laptop, so if you need to verify that it meets the hardware requirements.
What's more, knowing the specs can also be helpful if you want to install Windows 10 in a virtual machine (Virtualbox, VMware, etc.), since you can assign the necessary hardware for the installation.

How to know if my PC meets these requirements
If your PC is currently running a copy of Windows, it's very easy to check your technical specifications.
Check the processor (CPU), RAM and DirectX:
- Press the Windows keys + R
- Write dxdiag and press Enter.
This will open the diagnostic tool and show you the processor (Intel, AMD, etc.), RAM and DirectX version.
Note that in the case of RAM, its capacity will be displayed in megabytes (MB). But do not worry, you just have to convert to gigabytes (GB) to know if it meets the minimum or recommended requirements or not. To do this, you should know that 1 GB = 1024 MB.
Check the graphics card (GPU):
- In the Windows search engine, scribe “Device administrator” and run the tool
- Locate the option Display adapters and click the arrow > to expand.
Here it will show you the graphics card you have. In case you see two GPUs, means your PC has integrated graphics and a separate dedicated graphics card.
Check the screen resolution:
- Right click on the desktop
- Select option “Screen settings”
- Scroll down until you find Screen Resolution.
Check the size of the hard drive:
- Press Windows + E
- Click on “This team”
- Look at the size of the disks (partitions)
Here it is important to pay attention to the local Disk C, which is where Windows is installed and where you will probably reinstall Windows 10 Pro, Home, Enterprise LTSC o Education.
Finally, note that some specific operating system features have their own requirements. For example, Windows Hello requires a camera configured for near infrared imaging (IR). However, they are not required for Windows installation 10.
