Microsoft Office 2016 Professional is the most powerful office suite in the world that includes not only Word 2016, Excel 2016 and PowerPoint 2016, but also the Outlook client 2016 and Access apps 2016 and Publisher 2016.
A diferencia de Office Professional Plus 2016 (the most complete of all) and Microsoft 365, this edition does not include Skype for Business software.
Office 2016 Professional
The new Office 2016 includes several improvements and new features focused on team collaboration.
And even though at first glance there don't seem to be any significant changes compared to his version of 2013, you will notice them when you start editing documents.
For Office 2016 Professional, this edition is above Home & Business y Home & Student, but below Pro Plus. In that sense, includes not only Word, Excel and PowerPoint, but also Outlook, Publisher y Access.
The interface of this new version is the same as that of its predecessor. The only visible change is that it now adds a dark theme, which helps you focus on the document you are working on.
One of its novelties is the function of Smart search, found in the View tab. This function opens a side panel from where you can search Wikipedia content and other web information about the selected text.
Another improvement includes Word, what makes it easy to create documents with Microsoft's suggested heading styles. Thanks to this, it's getting easier to select between different styles and add title hierarchies easily.
For users who work with data, the new excel 2016 includes new types of graphics. One of them is the waterfall chart, showing vertical bars pointing up or down from a baseline. This is especially useful for financial data, but also for monitoring mixed results.
For his part, PowerPoint does not include major changes, beyond the collaboration features included in all applications.
Outlook, Publisher y Access
The new Outlook now has a new interface and collaboration-focused feature set.
A new function enables Attach files from OneDrive, instead of from your computer. It also offers a Groups function, through which team members can send messages, share files and calendars to the group. Even though the latter is only enabled for Office 365 enterprise level.
Office Professional 2016 also includes Microsoft Publisher y Microsoft Access, two applications that few use but are still present in Microsoft's office suite.
The first is a page layout application, very useful for menus and posters. The second is a simple database application. Despite this, have not been updated since version 2013.
Although some users will feel that it is not important to emphasize upgrading to Office 2016, others will be happy with the improvements the software offers. With this new suite, Microsoft offers a solid alternative to the competition and this should be reason enough for companies to upgrade.
